We love a bit of competition! In this video, we will hogcuff ourselves, with a pair of handcuffs and a pair of ankle cuffs, and then we will race to see who gets out first! I love doing handcuff research for you! Your question was: can you lock yourself in butterfly handcuffs with no help? That is a great question indeed, and not so simple. These cuffs consist of two separate halves, and you have to keep your hands really close together to slide the big pin in between. But how are you going to do that on your own? Here’s me trying to find out if it’s possible!

You have asked me: ‘in all your years of cuffing, did anything ever go wrong?’. Well, YES! Many times actually. I have had stuck handcuffs, unreachable keys, bruises, and much more! It is not without danger to be a cuff girl!!
Here’s an old video clip that I never posted because I didn’t escape. I was alone, handcuffed behind my back, and I thought it would be a good idea to cuff one ankle to the radiator so I had to stretch to get the key! I put the key at a distance I can usually get to, but I forgot that I usually do this when I am cuffed in FRONT! And I also didn’t realise that I couldn’t do my usual trick of getting the cuffs to the front, because of the leg irons that are attached to the radiator. I ended up having to call Anahí. Again.
Remember the TimeBond device? It is a black cylinder with another black cylinder inside. You fill it with water, pop it in the freezer and then you can use it for timed escapes. So me and Anahí handcuffed ourselves to the table using a very heavy chain. The TimeBond is suspended from the ceiling and we have about 1 hour to talk and wait for the key to drop…
Or at least, that’s what we thought… for some reason, this time it took almost FOUR hours for the key to drop!! I don’t know why it took so much longer, but we literally spent 4 hours chained to my desk. There was nothing we could do to speed it up, and there was no backup, because usually Anahí is my backup and she was handcuffed right next to me! It was an incredibly long wait, and we both had to go to the toilet really bad! Next time, we need to test this a little bit more before doing a video diary with no one there to help us…
